Another mideast disaster

Here's another international example of preventable threats to the environment caused by ill conceived construction projects:

Actually the problem is bigger. It is one of misplaced values and corporate greed allowed to run rampant with the aid of non democratic systems in the form of mideast royalty. In the rush to create some form of money making utopian fairyland independent of oil production, valuable and regionally rare ecosystems and species are not being considered in the equation. This problem is likely to be compounded by the fact that what happens in this new Vegas won't stay in Vegas. Dubai is likely to become a model of how some of these mideast fiefdoms will seek to move beyond oil. Since their own governments won't hold them responsible for this new era of environmental destruction it is up to us as consumers to speak with our wallets. I would recommend spreading a word of potential boycott of this Disneyland / Vegas on steroids as well as American and European companies who participate in this unleashed irresponsibility towards the environment.
