It seems that African nations have discovered that plastic bags are tremendously harmful to the environment, something our nation apparently has yet to discover. It is amazing when there is this kind of evidence:

An update on this post. It seems San Francisco and soon possibly New York are catching up to Africa by banning plastic bags and / or requiring requiring in-store recycling collection. Let's hope this one catches on throughout the U.S. quickly.
